Pediatric Occupational Therapist – Early Intervention & Preschool | Warsaw, NY
Job Description:
Play is how young children learn to move, communicate, and explore the world — and in this role, play is the job. You'll work with babies, toddlers, and preschoolers across Wyoming, Livingston, and Genesee counties, helping them build the everyday skills that set the foundation for everything else. This is pediatric OT the way it's meant to be practiced: child-centered, relationship-driven, and free of the rigid constraints that push so many therapists out of the field.
Why You'll Love This Role
You'll set your own pace with manageable caseloads instead of a packed, back-to-back schedule. Pay runs $40–$65 per hour, plus mileage reimbursement for the driving this role naturally involves. Scheduling flexes around your life, and you can choose full-time, part-time, or per diem depending on what fits right now. New grads are welcome, and mentorship along with treatment materials are provided so you're supported from day one. You'll also see a variety of settings — homes, daycares, schools, and clinic space — which keeps the work varied instead of routine.
Your Day-to-Day
- Provide occupational therapy services to children from birth through preschool age
- Deliver play-based treatment in homes, daycares, schools, and clinic settings
- Build individualized treatment plans and goals alongside families and educators
- Collaborate closely with parents, teachers, and other providers on each child's progress
- Complete documentation in a timely manner, with fast feedback loops built into the practice
What We're Looking For
- Current New York State Occupational Therapist license
- Pediatric experience preferred, but not required — new OT graduates are welcome to apply
Why Candidates Say Yes
This is a therapist-owned practice, so the people making decisions understand what therapists actually need. Caseloads stay manageable rather than overloaded. The team culture is described as supportive and family-oriented, with materials and mentorship provided rather than left to figure out on your own. And the flexible scheduling means this job can genuinely bend around the rest of your life, instead of the other way around.
