About the job Drinks Manager (Windermere)
Our client has a fantastic hotel in Windermere, and they are looking for a Drinks Manager, reporting to the Resident Manager, to provide exceptional hospitality to their guests by providing knowledgeable wine recommendations, hosting wine events and ensuring the food and drink team are fully trained on wine and drinks knowledge.
The client is offering live on site as an option.
Your day to day:
- Maintaining and developing their wine service offering
- Developing the wine list in conjunction with the General Manager, Resident Manager, and group support.
- You will be responsible for hotel liquor stock and stock management
- Developing drink service and drink offering in line with the Hotel Product Plan
- Suggesting food and wine pairing to guest and the team
- Training of the Food and drink team in wine service, pairings, and wine knowledge
- Hosting and developing their wine tasting experience programme for our guests
- Management of staff working in the Bar, including managing HR processes, recruitment and development of staff, induction, and training and rota-ing.
- To represent the company and the hotel in a loyal, professional, and knowledgeable manner at all time
Who are they looking for?
- At least 1-year previous experience in a high-quality Four-Star hotel in a management role is essential, whilst experience in a Five Star hotel is desirable
- WSET Level 2 a as a minimum and Level 3 preferred
- Experience of working in at least a 2 Rosette restaurant is essential, preferably in a management or assistant management role, experience working in a fine dining restaurant is desirable
- Strong experience within food and beverage
- A motivational leader who is seen as a role-model, with proven experience of managing and developing a team
- Proven experience of meeting guest requirements and going that extra mile
- You must have a strong work ethic and demonstrate the ability to motivate a team
- Be able to work in line with the companys brand standards
- Experience working with Rezlynx and Zonal would be advantageous and confidence with computers is required
- Strong communication skills
