Job Description

A leading business and technology services organization is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to help shape and execute its overall growth strategy. This role is focused on identifying and engaging prospective mid to large-size clients across various industries, introducing them to the company's innovative services. The Senior Business Development Manager supports multiple teams, helping to drive complex sales cycles and contributing to long-term business development objectives. This role is pivotal in generating new client discussions and identifying new revenue streams through established best practices, in collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Partner Alliances, and Business Development teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the design and execution of business development strategies in coordination with sales leadership.
  • Collaborate with senior management to ensure alignment between business development activities and organizational goals.
  • Provide strategic insights to influence service offerings based on market trends and client feedback.
  • Drive continuous enhancements to lead generation efforts.
  • Manage account mapping and research for target client accounts.
  • Conduct outbound prospecting calls to generate new business opportunities.
  • Qualify leads based on established criteria and ensure follow-up.
  • Perform market analysis to identify potential client opportunities.
  • Work closely with marketing and sales teams to ensure consistent outreach strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions within the CRM system.
  • Assist with the preparation of business development materials such as sales presentations, pitches, and reference documents.
  • Collaborate across teams to ensure shared vision and cohesive execution of business strategies.
  • Oversee the tracking of key performance indicators for business development and sales metrics.
  • Evaluate lead sources and sales activities to optimize conversion into business opportunities.
  • Ensure the ongoing application of best practices for business development and sales processes.
  • Support the use and execution of sales enablement tools such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, Salesforce CRM, and others.
  • Play a role in training and onboarding new business development hires, supporting their development through training programs.
  • Work with leadership to design effective sales scripts, strategic messaging, and qualification frameworks to improve lead conversion and drive revenue growth.

MINIMUM AND/OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is expected.
  • Advanced degrees such as a Master's in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field are preferred.

EXPERIENCE

  • 5-8 years of experience in business development or outbound sales roles.
  • Proven ability to drive revenue growth through targeted sales strategies.
  • Strong knowledge of industry dynamics and experience working in technology or consulting services.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems such as Salesforce, as well as tools like ZoomInfo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and Outreach.io.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Mentorship & Leadership: Experience mentoring junior team members and providing guidance on complex lead generation and prospecting techniques.
  • Strategic Thinking: A proven track record of developing and executing high-level business development strategies.

  • Sales Outreach Expertise: Proficient in cold calling, emailing, and communicating value propositions to engage prospective clients.
  • Negotiation & Deal Management: Excellent negotiation skills with experience managing contract negotiations.
  • Time Management: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Collaboration & Resilience: Ability to work across teams and maintain resilience in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
