Grant Thornton Abdulaal Bahrain is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Manager Corporate PMO to join our team on a short term secondment contract. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with one of our highly reputable clients in the market.
Job Purpose:
As the Senior Manager Corporate PMO, you will play a pivotal role in guiding the companies long-term growth and development. You will work closely with senior leadership to identify, set up, manage & execute strategic initiatives and cross functional that drive the company's success in a highly competitive industry.
Role:
- The position will lead PMO function for the group and will get to work in projects/ initiatives throughout the business with various stakeholders, ensuring project governance, reporting, and delivery excellence.
- The role involves presenting & participating in high profile management discussions, BoD and steerco meetings to drive project discussions/ performance reviews on the same.
Detailed Responsibilities:
- Project Planning: Develop detailed project plans, budgets, schedules, and resource allocations while ensuring alignment with enterprise goals.
- Stakeholder Management: Engage and influence stakeholders across various departments and levels, including senior leadership, to gain buy-in and ensure transparent communication.
- Risk Management: Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues, develop mitigation strategies and escalate when necessary.
- Execution & Delivery: Lead the end-to-end execution of strategic initiatives, overseeing project teams and driving cross-functional execution in a fast-paced environment.
- Performance Monitoring: Track project progress against timelines and budgets, reporting on key milestones, performance metrics, and outcomes to senior management and/ or BoD.
- Post-Project Review: Conduct evaluations to identify lessons learned and areas for continuous improvement in project management processes and best practices.
- Handling confidential matters with discretion in a high-pressure, unstructured environment.
- Coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure project deliverables are met.
- Drive change: Lead change management initiatives to ensure the organization successfully adopts new processes, systems, or strategies.
- Facilitate decision-making: Use data and analysis to inform strategic decisions, troubleshoot complex problems, and drive projects toward successful outcomes.
- Other tasks, as assigned from time to time.
Education & experience:
- Education: A bachelor's degree in business, management, engineering or a similar field is required, while a master's degree (such as an MBA) is preferred.
- Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) or Prince2 are highly desirable.
- Minimum of 5 years experience within a PMO role.
- Prior experience in strategy and management consulting is highly desirable.
Skills:
- Project Management Expertise: Proven experience in driving successful project planning, execution, monitoring, closing & reporting/ analyzing.
- Leadership & Communication: The ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with senior leadership, board members and other stakeholders.
- Organizational skills: The role demands sound judgment across diverse situations, coupled with robust administrative and organizational capabilities, allowing for the effective management of multiple priorities.
- Furthermore, the candidate must demonstrate the ability to thrive under pressure and manage confidential information with discretion.
- Financial Acumen: Experience of budget control and financial management as part of project delivery.
- Technical proficiency: Strong command of project management software (e.g., Jira, MS Project) and, often, a grasp of relevant technologies like CRM or digital engagement platforms.
