Qualifications:

  • Certified NCI and NCII

  • With at least 2-3 years experience in Dealership/Automotive industry

Duties & Responsibilities:

Supervisory and personnel management:

  • Schedules, assigns, and reviews work for automotive technicians and support staff.

  • Trains and mentors new and junior mechanics to help them develop their skills.

  • Conducts performance reviews for service technicians and addresses concern.

  • Fosters a positive work environment and promotes teamwork.

Operational oversight:

  • Monitors and updates the shop's service job type, PMS, GJ, BRP and Warranty repair orders..

  • Oversees the maintenance and repair of shop equipment and specialized tools.

  • Technical guidance and quality control:

  • Assists technicians in diagnosing complex or difficult vehicle problems.

  • Performs quality control inspections, including test-driving completed vehicles, to eliminate back jobs.

  • Maintains a consistently high level of service and ensures repairs meet safety and distributor/ manufacturer standards.

Safety and compliance:

  • Establishes and enforces safety standards and procedures to comply with company code of conduct and policy.

Qualifications and skills

  • Experience: Most automotive foreman roles require 3 to 6 years of experience as an automotive technician, with at least some of that time spent in a supervisory or leadership capacity.

Certifications:

  • (NCI and NCII) certifications: Essential for demonstrating technical expertise.

  • Other licenses: A valid driver's license is typically required.

  • Technical skills: Thorough knowledge of vehicle diagnostic methods, automotive repair, and preventative maintenance.

  • Proficiency with diagnostic equipment and shop management software.

Leadership and interpersonal skills:

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent time management, organizational, and delegation abilities.

  • A positive attitude and the ability to motivate and mentor a team.
