Overview

We are seeking an experienced Onshore QA Lead with deep expertise in Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) to oversee end-to-end quality assurance for marketing automation, customer journeys, integrations, data flows, and campaign execution. This role will be responsible for defining the QA strategy, leading test cycles, ensuring compliance, and driving high-quality deliverables across marketing programs and platform enhancements.

You will collaborate closely with Product Owners, Developers, Marketing Operations, and Business Stakeholders to ensure reliable, scalable, and error-free marketing communications across email, SMS, push, and personalized customer journeys.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Coordination

  • Lead onshore QA activities for Salesforce Marketing Cloud projects, enhancements, and production releases.
  • Coordinate testing activities across onshore and offshore QA teams.
  • Provide daily direction, prioritization, and workload management to QA analysts.
  • Communicate test progress, defect metrics, and release readiness to stakeholders.

Test Strategy & Planning

  • Develop comprehensive test strategies specific to SFMC components:
    • Email Studio
    • Journey Builder
    • Automation Studio
    • Contact Builder / Data Extensions
    • Mobile Studio (SMS/push)
    • API and integration layers
  • Create detailed test plans, test scenarios, and test cases for functional, integration, regression, and UAT cycles.
  • Ensure testing aligns with business requirements, data models, and customer segmentation logic.

Execution & Quality Assurance

  • Execute test cases, validate campaign builds, and maintain high-quality standards.
  • Validate end-to-end data flows between SFMC and connected systems (CRM, CDP, data lakes, APIs).
  • Conduct detailed reviews of HTML email templates, personalization logic, AMPScript, and dynamic content rules.
  • Identify, log, track, and retest defects using standard QA tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps).
  • Oversee automation opportunities across regression suites (nice-to-have).

Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure all campaigns adhere to compliance standards, including:
    • CAN-SPAM
    • GDPR/CCPA
    • Data retention and privacy policies
  • Maintain QA documentation, traceability matrices, and signoff artifacts.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Marketing, Salesforce Developers, Data Engineering, and Business teams for requirement reviews and defect triage.
  • Support UAT and assist business teams with validation.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across testing processes.

Qualifications

Required

  • 6+ years of QA experience, with at least 3+ years in Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
  • Strong hands-on experience with:
    • Journey Builder
    • Automation Studio
    • Data Extensions & Contact Model
    • AMPScript and personalization logic
    • Email/SMS campaign validation
  • Solid understanding of data flows, SQL queries, and API-based integrations.
  • Experience leading onshore/offshore QA teams.
  • Proficiency with Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail, or similar tools.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and documentation skills.

Preferred

  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud Email Specialist or Developer certification.
  • Experience with QA automation (e.g., Selenium, Postman, API automation).
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery.
  • Experience in regulated industries (Financial Services, Pharma, Insurance).
