Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Network Engineer to join our Global Networks Team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing complex on-prem and cloud-based networking solutions for Client sites in over 30 countries, with over 100 sites, globally.

The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in on-prem and cloud networking technologies, a deep understanding of network infrastructure for large enterprise companies, and a strong ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve complex network issues. The candidate is to work together with a larger global network team to support Client's global network operations across Asia Pacific, Europe, and the Americas.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Designing, building, and maintaining complex highly scalable and available network solutions deployed on-prem and in public clouds (such as AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform), and/or hybrid environments.

Solid technical experience to implement, maintain and support network environments primarily based on Juniper DC LAN architecture, Fortinet SDWAN fabric / security components, and F5 BigIP Solutions.

      • Juniper DC LAN: Management and support of leaf-spine architectures orchestrated through Apstra. BGP EVPN, VXLAN and DCI solutions based.
      • Fortinet SDWAN: Build, manage and support the SDWAN global network solution orchestrated through FortiManager, with FortiAuthenticator and FortiAnalyzer providing identity, SSL CA and analytics support. Manage FortiGate VDOMs in HA clusters environment. Support policies for DIA and additional traffic flows between zones.
      • F5 BigIP: Management and support of the distributed F5 infrastructure, which includes LTM/GTM with multiple configuration layers such as SSL offloading, encryption/decryption, iRules, and inline routing.
  • Consults on issues and requests from internal customers that require the implementation of on-prem and cloud networking infrastructure solutions.
  • Manage network performance and availability and perform regular network monitoring and testing to identify and resolve issues.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to network infrastructure, policies, and procedures.

Documentation might include local, regional and global scopes.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including application engineers, operations, and security, to ensure the integrity, security, and scalability of our cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Support the DevOps cultural transformation of the global network services team at Client by promoting, planning, and driving the deployment of new processes to eliminate wasteful, repetitive tasks that can be automated.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other network engineers and participate in the training and development of team members.

Due to his technical experience, cross-training sessions with other network team members with lower knowledge are expected.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Batchelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years' experience in deploying and maintaining both on-prem and cloud network infrastructure.
  • Extensive experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Extensive operational experience with large, distributed networks over WAN.
  • Expert knowledge of networking protocols and technologies such as TCP/IP, DNS, BGP, OSPF, VLAN, VPN, IPSEC, QoS, WAN, LAN, WLAN etc.
  • Knowledge of software-defined wide area networking (SDWAN) technologies, preferably Fortinet.
  • Deep understanding network security concepts and best practices and extensive experience in next-generation firewall (NGFW), preferably Palo Alto and Fortinet.
  • Capable of technical deep dives into code, networking, operating systems, and storage.
  • Solid working experience with leading network solutions from Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper, HPE Aruba, Fortinet, F5 etc.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, in English.
  • Mandarin language proficiency desirable (read, write, speak) due to Client's large presence in China.

Certifications

Desirable any one or more of the following

  • Fortinet NSE 6, NSE 7 Certification

  • Palo Alto PCNSE and/or PCNSA
  • Azure Support Engineer for Connectivity Specialty and/or Solutions Architect Expert
  • AWS Certified Advanced Networking Specialty
  • Cisco CCIE and/or CCNP in Enterprise or Security
  • GCP Professional Cloud Architect and/or Cloud Network Engineer
