GPC Philippines Corporation is currently seeking a Junior Web Designer for a US-based client. This position will be working from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm PST and applicable for Philippine-based candidates only.

Job Description

The Junior Web Designer is a key member of the collaborative design team, responsible for bringing creative visions to life through the design and development of engaging websites. This role requires a passion for web design, a strong understanding of CSS and styling best practices, and the ability to translate design concepts into functional and visually appealing websites using our Content Management System (CMS).

Key Responsibilities:

Web Design and Development:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop user-friendly and visually appealing websites using the company's CMS.
• Translate design concepts and wireframes into functional websites.
• Ensure cross-browser compatibility and adherence to web standards.
• Implement responsive design principles for optimal viewing across various devices.
• Proficiently utilize CSS and styling techniques to create polished and engaging web pages.

Branding and Collaboration:

• Participate in quarterly branding package development, contributing creative ideas and design expertise.
• Collaborate effectively with the design team and other stakeholders to ensure brand consistency and cohesion across all web projects.
• Exhibit strong communication skills and a proactive, team-oriented approach.

Client Interaction:

• Confidently engage with clients during the onboarding process, providing clear explanations and guidance.
• Effectively manage client expectations, especially when dealing with rushed timelines.
• Interpret vague instructions and proactively seek clarification to ensure project success.
• Make informed decisions independently while keeping stakeholders informed.

User Experience:

• Conduct user experience testing to identify areas for improvement and enhance overall website usability.
• Optimize website performance and ensure a seamless user experience.
• Stay current on web design trends and technologies to incorporate best practices into projects.

Requirements:

Essential Skills:

• Passion for web design and a strong aesthetic sense.
• Proficiency in HTML and CSS, with a deep understanding of styling best practices.
• Experience with jQuery or similar JavaScript libraries.
• Familiarity with Content Management Systems (CMS).
• Basic understanding of design software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator).
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with branding and logo design.
• Understanding of user experience (UX) principles.
• Knowledge of web accessibility standards.
