The FINANCIAL SERVICES MANAGER will be responsible for managing the loans that are held by the company. They work with other members of their team to ensure that all loans are performing as expected and that any issues are addressed in a timely manner.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify business opportunities in the Financial Services sector to grow the portfolio.
- Spearhead the growth of the Company Financial Services portfolio and build strong client relationships.
- Manage company transactions and funds, including accounting, reporting, and reconciliations.
- Design secure and accountable transactional procedures and processes for the Micro Finance branches.
- Expand the footprint of Micro Finance branches.
- Conduct research on new banking trends and methods, and make recommendations to management.
- Manage the FLOAT for MicroFin, Bureau, and Mobile Banking portfolios.
- Develop systems and procedures for proper fund accounting, traceability, and timely deposits.
- Manage and supervise staff under the Financial Services Portfolio.
- Ensure timely completion of regulatory requirements, registrations, and compliance tasks.
- Implement a performance management system for staff, setting targets and conducting assessments.
- Meet and exceed personal performance targets, ensuring profitability and risk-free operations.
- Perform any other assigned duties as needed.
- Prepare monthly activity reports, ensuring cost-effective fund usage and error-free reconciliations.
- Track expenses and maintain a cost-income ratio below the set standard.
- Collaborate with the Finance Department on various assignments.
- Provide leadership to teams and staff within the Financial Services Portfolio.
- Monitor and manage the performance of the loan portfolio, tracking key metrics such as delinquency rates, default rates, and overall portfolio health.
- Analyze trends and market conditions to proactively identify risks and opportunities within the loan portfolio.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize portfolio profitability, including refinancing, restructuring, and early repayment initiatives.
- Ensure loan portfolio compliance with all relevant regulatory guidelines, including but not limited to consumer protection laws and anti-money laundering (AML) regulations.
- Work closely with technology and data science teams to leverage advanced algorithms and AI-driven models for credit risk assessment and portfolio optimization.
Education & Experience
- Degree in Banking and Finance Economics or Business Administration,
- Minimum of 5 years work experience
- Strong understanding of Technology
- Experience working in the Bank and Microfinance
- Sales and business development experience is an added advantage
- Previous experience as a Branch Manager for a Bank or Microfinance institution will be considered a valuable asset.
