Position Summary:
We are on the hunt for Hotel Stores Managers to oversee Hotel Stores operation consisting of approximately 8 Officers/crew.
Responsible for overall Hotel Stores operation; oversee overall ordering, receiving, issuing and maintenance of stocks required for use in the Hotel areas on board.
- Responsible for overall loading of all Hotel Inventory items on time, stored and secured
- Ensure all orders are sent on schedule base on lead time and vendors requirement
- Offload Cargo/manifest on Main Port; responsible for completing proper Custom forms; send to shore side logistics for all offloading cargo, additional hard copies required; offload all items for Custom inspection
- Communicate with shore side Purchasing regarding orders and item implementation
Job Responsibilities:
- Finalize MMS receiving for any discrepancy
- Send all shore side reports for follow-up
- Follow-up on missing Vendor/ Items during loading day
- Communicate with shore side logistics for any Custom related issues in regards with cargo offloading manifest
- Monitor pick-up times for all departments
- Ensure all orders are sent on schedule base on lead time and vendors requirement
- Ensure SAP Ordering; provide approval of all General Supply orders; assist in placing external orders
- Maintain correct type/amount of stocks on board to stock levels in accordance with current usage and policies
- Ensure quantities and quality of supplier deliveries match requested specifications
- Monitor Hotel Stores areas maintenance and cleaning schedules to keep them within current USPH regulations
- Follow all USDA regulations
- Maintain and have documents pertaining to Hotel Stores accounts, HACCP, and USPH checks and controls available for auditing
- Follow-up any maintenance report for repair including Electric Pallet Jack
- See that hazardous materials are used and stored properly in operations under their control, including regular inventory and availability of MSDS
- Maintain Operating Guidelines and OJT material for areas of responsibility and revise as necessary
- Coordinate monthly stock counts (operating equipment)
- Follow-up weekly inventory count for all Hotel Stores inventory items
- Update MMS/ Fidelio template for new items
- Update Revise/ MMS pick-up schedules
- Responsible for Offload/loading operation
- Facilitate department meetings
- Provide leadership for all direct reports; Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Managing personnel files
- Conducting performance reviews, including discipline as needed
- Ensuring Project Onboard compliance
- Monitoring STAR, while making necessary corrections
- Onboard training, new hire and ongoing
- Succession planning
- Crew recognition and communication
Key requirements:
- Minimum age for all applicants is 21 years.
- Must have clear criminal record.
- Must not be on any chronic medication and have clear medical history.
- Minimum three years’ experience in high volume Food Service Management, Inventory control and/or Warehouse Operation.
- CDC vessel sanitation program certificate or equivalent degree.
- College education or equivalent industry experience preferred.
- Ship experience required.
- Experience in Provisioning/ Warehouse and Inventory is a plus.
- Technical and functional understanding of the ship-based food and Hotel operation.
- Ability to calculate and control cost potentials/projections and understand the impact on budget.
- Must be able to manage heavy/ physical work and stressful conditions (i.e. Loading period).
- Able to work and manage a team in unpredictable weather condition.
- Able to drive or operate Electric Pallet Jack and Forklift.
- Computer proficiency in Windows Office programs required; Knowledge of MMS is a plus.
- Knowledge handling sensitive food items.
- Good communication/people skills due to interaction with shipboard and shoreside departments.
- Ability to work with little supervision.
