Position Summary:
This team strives to provide our guest with an exceptional dining experience by training staff, inspecting cleanliness, and ensuring the best service practices are in place at all times. Previous restaurant management experience in 4- or 5-star properties is required, along with attention to detail and a strong passion for service.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Good English communication skills (oral and written)
- Minimum age for all applicants is 21 years.
- Must have clear criminal record.
- Must not be on any chronic medication and have clear medical history.
- Minimum of five years progressive food and beverage experience, preferably within a 4-5 star restaurant environment, is required.
- Ability to manage an international staff or guest is required.
- Bachelors degree in hospitality management, business administration or related field from an accredited college or university or the international equivalent is preferred.
- Demonstrated aptitude for financial aspects, including the successful identification of expense reduction through cost control.
- Demonstrated aptitude for the management of schedules, as it relates to and supports the business needs of the vessel.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal service including needs assessment, problem resolution and achievement of quality service standards.
- If applicant applies for Hooked Venue, candidate must have 2+ years experience in food service venue with more than 60% offerings seafood. Raw seafood experience required. Extensive seafood knowledge/application suggested.
- Knowledge of policies and practices involved in the human resources function.
- Ability to train, guide, coach employees for succession planning.
- Ability to utilize and administer the disciplinary action process through coaching and counselling to improve performance or terminate employment.
- Ability to communicate tactfully with department heads, coworkers, and other shipboard employees to resolve problems and negotiate resolutions.
- Working knowledge of computers, internet access, and the ability to navigate within a variety of software packages such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
