About the job General Technician
Job Responsibilities:
Open venues, install, set-up, operate and strike assigned ship wide and island events and activities (i.e. games shows and theme nights, band/duo/Cabaret performances, Adult/Family events, deck movies, dining room events, Youth programs, Guest speakers, shopping talk, deck parties/events, atrium activities, weddings, group/conference and concierge functions, etc.)
Responsible for operational and maintenance duties as scheduled; Duties include setting up/ striking activities, operating audio, lighting, A/V, and other equipment
Provide feedback of equipment challenges and any issues relating to consumable items to ensure good stock control
Provide support services as scheduled, to Marketing, Groups, Crew functions, and special events
Carry out all other duties and tasks assigned by the shipboard leadership team, including but not limited to safety duties and duties in support of other technical areas
Preventative maintenance and routine repair of all ship wide equipment
Maintain cleanliness of appropriate ship wide booths and lockers
Assist with contingency plans, as necessary
Manage sound/mic checks for ship wide venues or Entertainment Host/Cruise Staff, Main Stage performer, and/or Musicians
Equipment Specs:
- GrandMA lighting consoles
- Yamaha Digital Audio consoles (QL series)
- AMX control systems
- QSC Amplification, Loudspeakers, and Digital Signal Processing
- Fire One pyro firing system
- Wide range of intelligent lighting fixtures
PTZ (pan, tilt, zoom) remote cameras
Required/Desired: Experience, Qualifications, Education, Licenses
- Minimum two years experience in a relevant Entertainment based environment
- Knowledge of computer systems or computerized control systems
- Trade school/college diploma, preferred
- Self-motivated person, able to work with little supervision
Must possess a valid Drivers License
