Our client is an esteemed provider of business data and analytics, serving as a key player in Latin America and the Caribbean region.
As a Database Server Administrator, you need to have 2-5 years of experience in managing both Windows and Linux servers, in both on-premises and cloud environments, with a specific focus on databases. This role will require knowledge of server management, scripting, disaster recovery practices, SQL skills, and ideally, familiarity with Kubernetes.
What you will do:
- Configuration and maintaining Windows and Linux servers, both on-premises and cloud-based (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.).
- Manage software and updates on Corporate Servers and changes to Server GPO
- Configure, manage and optimize company databases for optimal performance and security.
- Roll out new security measures and enhancements.
- Assist in the development and implementation of disaster recovery protocols and business continuity strategies for servers and databases.
- Perform database procedures such as upgrade, backup, recovery, migration, etc.
- Collaborate with the IT team and other departments to ensure database integrity, security, and performance.
- Provide support for critical production systems and perform scheduled maintenance after hours as necessary.
- Document database processes and maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures.
- Maintain services running on orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
- Collaborate with DevOps and Dev to Maintain Tasks Automation (Rundeck)
- Support teams with data migration and extraction efforts.
What we are looking for:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or equivalent work experience.
- Experience with Windows and Linux server administration, and awareness of trends and new practices in the industry.
- Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Familiarity with disaster recovery processes and protocols.
- Proficiency with SQL, particularly with MSSQL and PostgreSQL. Familiarity with MongoDB is a plus.
- Experience with job scheduling and runbook automation tools like Rundeck is a plus.
- General familiarity with orchestration tools like Kubernetes, and ideally infrastructure-as-code practices, such as Terraform, Pulumi, etc.
- Ability to work effectively in a team, as well as independently when required.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
