About the job Senior Database Engineer (Oracle & SQL Server)

  • Responsible for end-to-end lifecycle management of Oracle Databases (12c/19c) on Linux, including installation, configuration, evaluation, administration, monitoring, and operational support.
  • Provide technical solutions for database-related issues while proactively monitoring and optimizing performance to ensure high availability and system reliability.
  • Manage and support Oracle database environments with a focus on data management, high availability (Oracle RAC and Data Guard), performance tuning, backup and recovery, and patching/upgrades.
  • Execute change and release management in compliance with organizational policies, and perform in-depth root cause analysis to troubleshoot and resolve database issues.
  • Oversee comprehensive database tuning across configuration, memory, SQL, and storage layers, while administering and maintaining Microsoft SQL Server environments (2016 and above).
  • Support audits with accurate documentation, participate in disaster recovery exercises, respond to incidents and service requests promptly, and ensure documentation aligns with company standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology or a related field from a recognized university.
  • Over 8 years of hands-on experience in Oracle database patching and advanced administration of standalone and RAC environments, with proven expertise in Oracle RAC and Grid Infrastructure components such as Clusterware, ASM, and Disk Group management.
  • Solid experience with Microsoft SQL Server high availability solutions, including Always On Availability Groups and Windows Clustering.
  • Strong background in database migration and upgrade projects across various platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and enforce database security policies, along with the creation and maintenance of related procedural documentation.
  • Willingness and flexibility to support critical operations outside regular business hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by banking operations.
