About the job Senior IT Program Team Manager (Permanent, Banking)
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Project Managers within respective applications, ensuring effective project execution, the professional development of team members, and overseeing high-priority programs by monitoring progress, budgets, and risks to ensure successful outcomes, while addressing interdependencies across projects and assisting IT leadership in developing annual work and resource plans.
- Oversee the IT budget management of respective teams, provide status reporting to management regarding project milestones, deliverables, and dependencies, communicate with leadership and relevant project stakeholders, manage a portfolio of complex initiatives across multiple lines of business, and ensure alignment with and support for strategic objectives.
- Establish and maintain program governance frameworks to ensure clarity in roles, responsibilities, and decision-making processes, deliver appropriate and effective executive-level communication, and continuously manage stakeholder expectations through governance processes.
- Collaborate with IT partners to identify and support technology-driven innovation initiatives, and work closely with stakeholders to facilitate the deployment, testing, and validation of Minimum Viable Product.
- Understand the interdependencies between technology and business needs, and monitor, track, and control outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies, and critical path deliverables.
- Stay current with emerging technology trends and engage vendors to assess the suitability of new solutions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, with over 15 years of experience, ideally within the Banking and Finance industry and Technology environments, including at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
- Extensive experience in system development, including the creation of functional and technical specifications and hands-on involvement in system development.
- Deep understanding of and practical experience in the full software development lifecycle, with expertise in both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
- Highly effective in communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders while maintaining proficiency in engaging with technical teams.

Strong problem-solving, analytical, systems thinking, and solution design capabilities.

Exceptional negotiation skills and experience in managing vendor relationships and project execution.

Experience in vendor product management is a significant advantage.

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.

Proven track record in end-to-end project management in a lead role.

Excellent executive-level communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively both in written and verbal formats.
