Job scope

The Chemical Production Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the production processes in our chemical manufacturing plant. This role involves ensuring the efficient and safe production of chemicals, troubleshooting process issues, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemical engineering, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for driving operational excellence

1. Process Optimization

  • Monitor and analyze production processes to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize production efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
  • Conduct process simulations and modeling to predict outcomes and optimize parameters.

2. Production Management

  • Oversee daily production activities to ensure they meet safety, quality, and output targets.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, quality control, and maintenance, to ensure smooth production operations.
  • Prepare and maintain production schedules, ensuring timely delivery of products.

3. Troubleshooting and Problem Solving

  • Investigate and resolve production issues, including equipment malfunctions and process deviations.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Provide technical support to production staff and assist in training as needed.

4. Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure all production activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.
  • Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices to ensure compliance.

5. Project Management:

  • Lead and manage capital projects, including the installation of new equipment and process upgrades.
  • Develop project plans, budgets, and timelines, and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and contractors as needed.

6. Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of production data, process changes, and equipment performance.
  • Prepare regular reports on production metrics, including yield, efficiency, and quality.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior management.

Requirement

  • Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering/Industrial Engineering
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience.
  • Experience with a multinational chemical company with established safety, health and environmental programs would be ideal. English language is a must.
