About the job Lead Azure Data Architect (Permanent, Banking)

  • As the Azure Data Platform Technical Lead, you will plan on-premises system migration, covering migration methodology, data requirements, and compliance strategy, while providing insights to support the internal team in building an Azure data warehouse, Databricks, data pipelines, and Power BI reports.
  • Assess current practices, processes, and procedures to identify opportunities for leveraging Microsoft Azure Data and Analytics Services.
  • Provide technical and thought leadership in data access, ingestion, processing, integration, modeling, database design, implementation, visualization, and advanced analytics.
  • Work with project managers to estimate technical tasks and deliverables while developing best practices, reusable frameworks, and naming standards for cloud-based data warehousing and ETL.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in information technology, Computer Science, Manage Information Science, Banking and Finance or equivalent.
  • At least 10 years of experience in Data Warehousing, Analytics, Real-time Data Integration, or Business Intelligence, with a minimum of 3 years as a Data Architect, Solution Architect, or Technical Lead, and at least 2 years leading technical teams in Azure data platform implementation.
  • Proficiency in Databricks is required, along with knowledge of traditional and modern data architectures, including SQL, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, and business analytics.
  • Experienced in Azure database platforms (Azure SQL, Databricks, Data Lake Gen2), Azure data integration tools (Synapse, Data Factory, Event Hub), data visualization tools (QlikView, Power BI), and programming languages (R, Python).
  • Strong architectural sense in integrating data sources, visualization, and structured/unstructured data, with consideration for candidates with traditional ETL expertise.
  • Knowledge of financial sector technologies, products, and services is an advantage, with the ability to multitask in a complex technical environment to deliver high-quality solutions.
