About the job Freight Operations Support

Job Descriptions:

  • Provide comprehensive support for freight operations, with a primary focus on air freight (95%), and secondary responsibilities for trucking (4%) and ocean freight (1%).
  • Collaborate with 3PL warehouses, freight providers, and relevant stakeholders to resolve shipment issues, including documentation, cargo damage, discrepancies, and other related concerns.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to stakeholders' inquiries, addressing shipment queries, issues, and providing necessary assistance.
  • Manage service recovery efforts, including containment of escalations, conflict resolution, and conducting investigations to identify root causes.
  • Oversee the performance of the 3PL transportation team and freight providers, ensuring that agreed-upon service standards and key performance indicators (KPIs) are met consistently.
  • Assist in identifying and implementing enhancement requests related to both operations and systems, aiming to improve efficiency and service quality.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of work experience in a similar role.
  • Must have experience in air freight operations support, preferably within semiconductor companies or handling semiconductor shipments.
  • Proven experience working with forwarders, integrators, and premium service carriers.
  • Solid working knowledge of shipment Incoterms, shipment liabilities, and claims processes.
  • Ability to provide support during weekends for urgent shipments, particularly during peak periods (remote support is available).
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to respond professionally via email, meetings, and phone calls.
  • Comfortable attending meetings with 3PL warehouses, freight providers, and global stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel to ALPS for warehouse visits, particularly during quarter-end periods.
  • Availability and commitment to work hands-on during peak quarter months, which are in March, June, September, and December.
  • Independent, responsible, resourceful, and a fast learner with a strong sense of urgency.

Good to Have:

  • A diploma or degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Knowledge of customs permits and Free Trade Zone (FTZ) requirements.
  • Familiarity with the SAP system is advantageous.
