Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyze, and document business requirements from various stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Product Owner (PO) to prioritize business needs and break down high-level requirements into actionable user stories.
  • Convert business requirements into detailed functional specifications, outlining user interactions, data flows, and system behavior.
  • Partner with development teams to ensure the solution design aligns with functional requirements and business expectations.
  • Serve as a functional expert to guide the development team in understanding business processes and user needs.
  • Investigate existing internal and external solutions to assess their applicability in meeting business requirements.
  • Participate in technical design discussions, considering system architecture and feasibility within existing constraints.
  • Ensure the functional quality of delivered software by supporting functional testing and providing production support when necessary.
  • Evaluate how functional changes may impact current Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Operational Level Agreements (OLAs).
  • Support Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) by drafting user scenarios and assisting with functional validation efforts.
  • Contribute to deployment processes by defining functional prerequisites and conducting post-deployment validations.
  • Assist team members with their functional responsibilities, onboard new joiners, and resolve functional issues as needed.
  • Work closely with the Functional Architect to ensure seamless integration of new software with existing IT systems.
  • Produce and maintain documentation including specifications, effort estimates, project planning, test cases, and user manuals.

Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a Business Analyst within the financial sector, particularly in Market Data administration.
  • Hands-on experience working with FPML (Financial Products Markup Language).
  • Strong technical skills in SQL and Excel, with knowledge of programming languages such as Python or R for data manipulation and analysis.
  • Proficient in database querying and management.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively liaise with team members and stakeholders.
  • Ability to present ideas clearly and logically in both oral and written formats.
  • Willingness to provide Level 3 support when necessary.

Functional Skills

  • Experience managing Static Market Data.
  • Familiarity with market data providers such as Bloomberg (BBG) and Refinitiv.
  • Understanding of Capital Markets and a strong grasp of financial instruments including FX, Bonds, Rates, and Equities, as well as the end-to-end trading lifecycle.

Nice to Have

  • Background in project management methodologies and practices.
  • Experience with Back Office systems like Calypso, or exposure to Front Office and Market Risk platforms.
  • Proficient in tools such as MS Office, SharePoint, Microsoft Project, Visio, Jira, and GIT.
  • Knowledge of UML (Unified Modeling Language) for system modeling.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies.
  • Understanding of object-oriented programming in languages such as Java or .NET.
