Job Description
- Adhere to WSH regulations and standards in Singapore.
- Coordinate with site teams and contractors to ensure compliance with safety requirements where necessary.
- Vet through all permit-to-work submissions to ensure accuracy of information, completeness of documentation and compliance to the WSH Act, subsidiary legislation and codes of practice. Verify that contractor risk assessments comply with the Code of Practice on WSH Risk Management and capture the actual activities to be performed on site.
- Perform daily inspections of work areas to spot safety non-conformities and unsafe conditions/practices, document them and direct them to the relevant person-in-charge for closure. To follow up on the status of each finding to ensure timely and effective closure.
- Conduct spot checks on contractor work areas to ensure they possess valid permits to work (including work at height and hot work permits) and ensure no incompatible works are carried out in those work areas.
- Conduct toolbox meetings and safety briefings when required, to reinforce safe work practices among employees and contractors.
- Ensure relevant documentation and records are properly maintained.
- During moving/relocation and lifting operations, ensure that move paths and work areas are clear of obstructions and other traffic. Ensure no incompatible works are carried out by any party in the vicinity of the moving/relocation/lifting works.
- Be readily on-site during hazardous work activities such as lifting operations / confined space entry / etc, to monitor and provide supervision if necessary.
- Attend to safety incidents and accidents, provide assistance to any injured personnel, conduct preliminary incident investigation and escalate incidents accordingly.
- Assist in the evacuation of building personnel during emergencies and drills; and provide on-site emergency response coordination if required.
- Provide regular updates to site Safety Officers and communicate with site Safety Officers to gain alignment on decisions made where necessary.
Job Requirement
- Safety coordinator: WSQ Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health (Level B)
- Safety officer: Valid WSHO licence
- Possess 2-3 years experience in fulfilling the duties in the job description
- Fluent spoken and written English
- Able to work on shifts (not exceeding midnight) if needed
