About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled GCP Architect to lead large-scale cloud migration and modernization programs. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on technical leader experienced in migrating complex workloads from on-premise and legacy systems (including AS400, VMware, and mainframes) to Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

This position requires deep architectural knowledge, technical leadership, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and optimize secure, scalable, and cost-efficient GCP environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end cloud migration initiatives, including discovery, assessment, planning, design, migration, and cutover.
• Architect secure, scalable, and automated GCP environments for enterprise workloads (Compute, Storage, Networking, Data, and Security).
• Modernize applications and databases using GCP-native services such as GCE, GKE, BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Spanner, Dataflow, Dataproc, and Pub/Sub.
• Design and implement Landing Zones, hub-and-spoke network architectures, IAM policies, and VPC service controls.
• Lead teams of cloud engineers, DevOps, and data specialists through all migration phases from legacy discovery to post-migration optimization.
• Integrate CI/CD and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Ansible, Cloud Build, Jenkins) to enable automation and repeatable deployments.
• Develop migration playbooks, governance frameworks, and runbooks ensuring compliance and operational excellence.
• Optimize performance, cost, and security across hybrid or multi-cloud environments.
• Partner with business and technical stakeholders to align cloud solutions with organizational goals.
• Oversee disaster recovery, HA/DR configurations, and resilience architecture on GCP.

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of total IT experience with 8+ years of GCP architecture and cloud migration leadership.
• Strong experience leading AS400 or mainframe modernization projects to GCP or hybrid cloud environments.
• Expert-level understanding of GCP core services Compute Engine, GKE, VPC, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Cloud SQL, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, and Dataproc.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform, Cloud Build, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions for IaC and CI/CD.
• Strong grasp of networking and security concepts (VPC Peering, Cloud Armor, VPN, Interconnects, IAM, KMS).
• Proven ability to lead teams in cloud migration, automation, and optimization efforts.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• GCP Certifications preferred:
  • Professional Cloud Architect (Required)
  • Professional Cloud Network or Security Engineer (Preferred)

Good to Have

• Experience with Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE) or Bare Metal Solutions (BMS).
• Familiarity with AS400 modernization, middleware migration, or container-based replatforming.
• Exposure to multi-cloud strategies (AWS, Azure) and hybrid integration.
• Understanding of data and AI/ML platforms (Vertex AI, Databricks, or MLOps).
