Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or any relevant course
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience as a Tax Accountant in a public accounting firm
- At least 1 year of US Tax Accountant experience
- Experience with journal entry preparation, accrual vs. cash basis of accounting
- Experience preparing 1040, 1120, 1065, 5471, 5472, FBAR, and other tax forms
- Client contact experience.
- Must have working knowledge in any of the following accounting software: Ultra Tax CS, CCH ProSystems, QuickBooks, and/or Practice CS
- Proficiency in Excel for managing and analyzing financial data
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in tax filings and documentation
- Amenable to work in a Hybrid set-up
- Willing to work the night shift
Responsibilities:
- Become familiar with the firm's policies and procedures;
- Prepare individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns, including OVDP and Streamlined compliance;
- Review client data and prepare journal entries;
- Assist clients with accounting matters;
- Identify, research, and advise on tax issues and planning opportunities;
- Multi-state income tax compliance and planning, including non-resident withholding and composite state income tax returns;
- Provide client support for audits and responses to notices from taxing authorities;
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, helping to provide industry knowledge and experience;
- Build and manage effective working relationships with clients.
