The Information Security Support Specialist will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the security posture of our client's information systems. This role involves monitoring security alerts, analyzing potential threats, assisting in the implementation of security measures, supporting the overall information security strategy, and much more.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, or any related field
- Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in a technical support role, preferably in a medium to large-sized organization
- Proficient in technical support for Windows 10/11 and preferably macOS environments.
- Experience with software deployment systems, especially Microsoft Intune
- Strong skills in remote system troubleshooting using ConnectWise or similar tools
- Intermediate networking skills, including troubleshooting TCP/IP over wired/wireless connections and Cisco VPN issues
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and various software installations and upgrades
- Proficient in managing help desk ticketing systems
- Experience in provisioning user accounts and performing account management
- Preferably with any of the following certifications, but not required: CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be willing to work in a hybrid arrangement and in a night shift schedule
Responsibilities:
- Triage, assign, and/or respond to helpdesk tickets;
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of technical controls to support the firm's security policies and procedures;
- Participate in event investigations, incident response, and recovery activities;
- Create and maintain a security knowledge base and documentation;
- Assess and evaluate suspicious emails submitted by firm staff;
- Assist in the implementation and monitoring of security controls and measures;
- Regularly test security controls and maintain a log of tests and results.
- Perform regular security audits and vulnerability assessments;
- Collaborate with the IT team to ensure secure configuration of systems and applications;
- Stay up to date with the latest security trends, threats, and technologies;
- Basic troubleshooting of Microsoft 365 and industry-specific applications;
- Assist with the firm's vendor management program by evaluating controls and security practices;
- Assist with a wide range of technology projects and, in some situations, lead smaller projects;
- Demonstrate professionalism; and
- Perform other job-related duties as necessary and ability to work additional hours as needed.
