Qualifications:

  • Graduate of Accounting or any relevant degree
  • Preferably a CPA
  • Must have 4-6 years of relevant experience
  • At least 2-3 years of experience working as a US Accountant
  • At least 1 year of experience training, mentoring, and guiding junior accounting staff
  • Experience in a US public accounting, consulting, or advisory role is advantageous
  • Must be proficient in general ledger management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation, and financial reporting
  • Advanced Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems: QuickBooks, Netsuite, Sage, or Xero (at least 2)
  • Knowledge of Bill.com is highly advantageous
  • Strong expertise in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling, pivot tables, and advanced functions
  • In-depth understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting standards
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in variance analysis, trend analysis, and financial reporting.
  • Ability to interpret financial data, identify insights, and provide recommendations for process improvements.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements ensuring compliance with accounting principles and supporting tax filings
  • Strong knowledge of tax regulations, financial regulations payroll processing, and compliance requirements
  • Ability to analyze financial data and provide insights into business performance
  • Ability to review and approve accounting transactions, journal entries, and reconciliations
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders
  • Must be willing to work the night shift schedule
  • Amenable to a hybrid work arrangement

Responsibilities:

  1. Accounting Process Oversight
    • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and payroll processing, to ensure accuracy and completeness.
    • Review accounting transactions, journal entries, and reconciliations prepared by junior staff members to ensure compliance with accounting principles and client specifications.
    • Provide guidance and training to junior staff members on accounting processes, procedures, and best practices.

  2. Financial Reporting and Analysis
    • Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
    • Perform variance analysis, trend analysis, and financial performance analysis to identify opportunities for improvement and inform decision-making.
    • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for clients, providing insights and recommendations as needed.

  3. Payroll Processing and Tax Compliance
    • Manage payroll processing, including data entry, payroll calculations, and payroll tax filings, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations.
    • Assist in the preparation of tax returns, including sales tax returns, payroll tax returns, and income tax returns, collaborating with tax preparers or accountants as needed.
    • Stay up-to-date on changes in tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements, ensuring compliance and accuracy in tax filings.

  4. Client Relationship Management
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, building and maintaining positive relationships through regular communication and proactive support.
    • Understand clients' business needs and objectives, providing strategic guidance and recommendations to improve accounting processes and financial performance.
    • Address client inquiries, concerns, and requests in a timely and professional manner, demonstrating responsiveness and commitment to client satisfaction.

  5. Process Improvement and Efficiency
    • Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and streamlining within the outsourced accounting function to enhance efficiency and productivity.
    • Develop and implement best practices, standard operating procedures, and quality control measures to ensure consistency and accuracy in accounting processes.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to leverage technology and tools to optimize accounting workflows and deliver high-quality services to clients.
