Archaeologist Crew Lead

Archaeologist Crew Lead needs 3+ years experience in archaeology role

Archaeologist Crew Lead requires:

• Bachelors degree in Anthropology or related field
• Completion of an accredited archaeological field school
• Experience in CRM-based Phase I/II/III archaeological survey and/or excavation
• 1+ years experience leading archaeological field work to locate and identify sites?
• Experience with GPS/Trimble navigation and data collection
• Knowledge of historic/prehistoric material culture and artifact processing
• Ability to navigate using compass and USGS topographic map
• Ability to set up and run a Total Station independently for site recording/mapping
• Archaeological reporting experience.

Archaeologist Crew Lead duties:

• Ability to extensively perform bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 50 lbs. as needed
• Work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions
• Perform physically demanding tasks in adverse environmental conditions (e.g., rugged terrain, remote locations, hot and cold temperatures)
• Office work is generally sedentary in nature but may require occasional standing and walking.
