Software engineers design, develop, and test software and applications for computers. The main duties and responsibilities of software engineers include directing and participating in programming activities, monitoring, and evaluating system performance, and designing and implementing new programs and features.
Duties and responsibilities
Consulting on the IT architecture process with focus on Technical Lifecycle Management (TLM)
Support on the planning, conducting and after care for TLM activities
Support on the documentation of infrastructure components and master solutions according to TLM and architectures guidelines including quality assurance
Monitoring of TLM activities in the Group
Interfacing with other experts on IT Service Management
Ensure, drive, steer, report and improve the quality of architecture documentation with focus on TLM
Supporting the development of technical recommendations with respect to TLM
Qualification and skills required:
10 to 15 years working experience in IT
Fluent English-speaking, including business reading and writing
German-speaking preferred
Information Technology Qualification
Broad understanding of Technical Lifecycle Management in IT
Prior experience in the role of Software Architect
Good understanding of IT Infrastructure components and deep understanding of middleware, cloud technologies and interface technologies including dependencies to the application layer
Practical experience in the special context of TLMExperience in PLSQL for analysis purposes
Ability to conceptualise complex information, but also delve into the details when required
Communication methodology skills in big organisations / initiatives
In-depth knowledge and practical experience with frameworks and guidelines (ITIL, Standards) relevant for IT operations
Practical experience with the classical IT Infrastructure Operations, DevOps and agile software development
Understanding of processes and tools (advantageous)Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong ability to understand and interpret Business needs and requirements with the ability to move concepts through to proposal and finally successful implementation.
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with ability to communicate effectively (both verbally and written) with both technical and non-technical colleagues / users.
Should be willing to deal with (talk to) our customers. In most cases they will be foreign customers and language barriers might exist.
Ability to work as part of a team, inter-dependent as well as independently and submit deliverables on time and in excellent quality. SELF STARTER.

Ability and willingness to coach and give training to fellow colleagues and users when required.
Willing and able to travel extensively, for up to 2 weeks at a time (international).
