Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Accessibility Analyst to lead the development, implementation, and ongoing management of our organization's comprehensive accessibility framework. This is a contract-to-hire (CTH) role, ideal for a proactive individual with proven experience in building and managing successful accessibility programs within large, complex organizations.
The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in global digital accessibility regulations and standards, possessing strong project management capabilities to drive initiatives from conception to completion. We are looking for a long-term partner; therefore, a history of tenure and commitment with previous organizations is highly valued.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain a robust enterprise-wide accessibility framework, ensuring alignment with WCAG, ADA, Section 508, and other relevant global regulations.
- Lead and manage all phases of accessibility projects, from initiation and planning through execution and delivery, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Conduct comprehensive accessibility audits, heuristic evaluations, and gap analyses of websites and applications to identify, document, and prioritize remediation efforts.
- Serve as the central accessibility resource, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams (Design, Development, UX, Content) to integrate accessibility best practices into the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Provide expert guidance, training, and support to internal teams to foster a culture of accessibility and build internal capabilities.
- Monitor, measure, and report on key accessibility compliance metrics and program progress to stakeholders and leadership.
- Stay abreast of evolving accessibility laws, standards, and emerging technologies to ensure our practices remain current and proactive.
- Manage relationships with external vendors, consultants, and auditors as needed to supplement and support accessibility initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5+ years of professional experience in digital accessibility, with a proven track record of developing and/or managing enterprise-level accessibility programs.
- Deep, practical knowledge of current global accessibility regulations and standards (e.g., WCAG 2.1/2.2, ADA Title III, Section 508, EN 301 549, AODA).
- Demonstrated success in project managing accessibility initiatives in a large organization.
- Experience conducting accessibility audits using tools such as JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack, Axe, and WAVE.
- Strong ability to translate technical requirements into actionable advice for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills.
