Responsibilities/Job Descriptions :
- A green hydrogen developer is seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Project Engineer (SPE) to join its team and manage a novel green hydrogen Joint Development Project
- The SPE will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating engineering tasks for the project development, design and construction
- You will work closely with the team managers in engineering, project management, procurement, and installation & commissioning teams to ensure timely delivery of engineering deliverables and stakeholder clarifications
- The project is an international export project so candidates with marine projects and large scale energy project experience will be viewed highly
- The SPE's primary goal is to keep the project on schedule and reduce technical risks during the development & design by providing clear and accurate documentation promptly
- Additional duties include devising project-specific solutions, coordinating with vendors, participating in technical and progress meetings, and supporting management during FEED studies and EPC project execution
- The candidate will be an experienced SPE capable of grasping the project requirements including processes, applications, and deliverables
- Focus on critical documentation such as PFD, P&ID, GA drawings, Equipment Lists, layouts, and 3D models and ensuring proper document management.
- Lead the selection process for technology, OEMs, and products by setting criteria to meet specific technical requirements
- Review product documentation and apply requirements to plant and utility designs.
- Participate in project meetings for progress, design reviews, and risk assessments like HAZOP, HAZID
- Develop and assess Bills of Materials for installation and ensure their completeness
- Assist in preparing quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and explore cost-saving innovations in design, sourcing, and installation
- Manage outsourced engineering activities, ensuring timely and accurate deliverables
- Lead teams in executing engineering activities for green hydrogen, green ammonia, and other hydrogen-based projects.
- Use cost-effective execution techniques to develop optimal project solutions.
- Provide input during all design phases, including interpreting applicable codes and standards
- Engage in key project meetings such as vendor review meetings, Customer Coordination Meetings, and Design Review Meetings
Qualifications and Skills :
- Degree qualified in Chemical/Mechanical Engineering or other similar engineering subject.
- 5+ years project engineering experience
- Strong English skills
- Strong working knowledge and experience interfacing multiple design disciplines to meet project deliverables (mechanical, civil, structural, electrical, instrumentation & controls)
- Must possess strong organizational skills & sense of responsibility
- Must be a driver of action and strong communicator
- Must be data-driven and possess a high level of attention to detail
- Effective oral, presentation, and written communication skills
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project plus other engineering and document management applications
- Demonstrated strategic thinking, accountability, and adaptability skills
