About the job Associate, Impact Principles
The Associate will support and contribute to day-to-day operations, administration, communications, and programs of the Impact Principles Secretariat to advance its strategic goals and priorities. The Associate will also support program leadership in developing and implementing multi-year program plans, engaging with the Signatories and broader ecosystem stakeholders, and designing systems and operational infrastructure, developing, over time, a valuable skillset for nonprofit administration while gaining an understanding of the impact investing field.
The position will report to the Manager, Signatory Engagement and Communications, Impact Principles. The position requires a self-starter with strong project management and excellent communications skills who thrives in an entrepreneurial, collaborative environment with a learning orientation and an interest in systems-building.
Operations, Administration, Data Management and Reporting
· Execute and support continuous improvement of the operations and administration of the Signatory engagement process, including records/data management to meet the needs of growing Signatory base
· Support development of Salesforce systems and processes for Signatory, prospect and stakeholder management, collaborating with GIIN IT
· Manage communications and operational processes related to timely submission, review and publication of disclosure and verification statements
· Working with the GIIN Finance, Legal and Operations, support the invoicing process for Signatory fees and vendor contract and invoice
· Maintain accuracy and completeness of Salesforce database and prepare periodic reports as relevant
Signatory Engagement
· Support development and implementation of Signatory engagement plans with corresponding process, tracking, analysis, and documentation
· Supporting Manager and Head of Secretariat, conduct research and manage tracking of pipeline of prospects and new stakeholder relationships
· Respond to on-going Signatory, prospect and other inquiries as applicable.
Signatory programming and events
· Contribute to development and execution of Signatory and other public programming, working closely with the Manager, Head of Secretariat, and Signatory leads and collaborating with GIIN and other ecosystem partners as needed. These include but are not limited to Working Groups, Regional Committees, Signatory Open Forums and Webinars.
· Support planning and implementation of in-person and virtual Signatory and other Impact Principles public events including operational and logistical elements, collaborating with GIIIN and other ecosystem partners as needed. These include and but not limited to Signatory Annual Meeting, Signatory Luncheon (typically at the GIIIN Impact Forum), and regional and other events
· Document and report specific program/event participation, summaries and takeaways and manage follow-ups as necessary
Communications and Marketing
· Working closely with the Manager, Head of Secretariat, external Consultant(s) and GIIN Communications as appropriate, support development and implementation of external communications plan inclusive of brand marketing, website, eNews, social media, press release, and thought leadership articles/publications
· Working with GIIN IT, Communications, and external vendors/consultants, develop and implement system for tracking communications engagement to monitor and improve on-going strategic and program communications.
· Contribute to maintaining up-to-date website content and any website revamp/update and regular content creation and distribution of eNews and social media
· Support development and distribution of strategic thought leadership content including short-form insights, articles and report publications
· Contribute to creation of a range of communications materials including but not limited to press releases, talking points, presentations, overviews/fact sheets, FAQs, event/meeting summaries and other written materials
Qualifications:
Strong project management skills, including ability to plan and execute on projects against a workplan to deliver high-quality and timely outputs· build infrastructure for a new or growing program, and implement complex projects from start to finish in collaboration with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders
· Strong attention to detail, with high standards of performance and ability to prioritize assignments, juggling multiple tasks simultaneously
· A proactive approach to identifying and solving problems, as well as timely communication to relevant internal stakeholders
· Team-orientation, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both collaboratively and independently, and with a diverse community of Signatories and stakeholders
· Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to synthesize and effectively communicate complex ideas, and the ability to adapt approach, style and tone to audience and context
· Event planning and execution skills, including experiences with event logistics, developing content, and working with speakers and vendors
· Highly creative with a passion and interest in systems-building
· Genuine curiosity and a strong learning orientation
· Interest in developing nonprofit program management skills is a plus
· Interest or experience in impact investing and/or social and environmental issues are a plus
· Personable, engaging, and professional presence with diplomacy, tact, and good humor

Other requirements
· Two to three years work experience demonstrating exceptional administrative, organizational, and/or event planning abilities
· Experience with and/or aptitude for technology solutions and databases, such as Salesforce, Slack, Asana, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, MailChimp etc.
· Working knowledge of computer software applications, such as Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required
· Experience in/with the impact investment/financial sector is desirable
Bachelors degree required
