Head Chef

Global Experts is a leading recruitment agency that helps skilled professionals get the best jobs with trustworthy employers. On behalf of our client, a 4* Hotel in Austria, we are looking for a Head Chef!

Main duties:

• Control and direct the food preparation process and any other relative activities
• Construct menus with new or existing culinary creations ensuring the variety and quality of the servings
• Approve and “polish” dishes before they reach the customer
• Plan orders of equipment or ingredients according to identified shortages
• Arrange for repairs when necessary
• Remedy any problems or defects
• Be fully in charge of hiring, managing and training kitchen staff
• Oversee the work of subordinates
• Estimate staff’s workload and compensations
• Maintain records of payroll and attendance
• Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
• Foster a climate of cooperation and respect between co-oworkers

The ideal candidate:

• Possess 2-4 years of experience as a Sous Chef or 2 years experience as a Head Chef in a 4* or 5* hotel or fine dining restaurant
• Have strong communication and organisational skills: these are a must as this is a busy, dynamic role.
• Be flexible to work varying shifts, including weekends, evenings and on occasion, early mornings.
• Excellent knowledge of all sections
