We are seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to join our client, a content creation company specializing in the food industry. This is an onsite position based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute effective sales strategies to meet or exceed sales targets.
- Identify potential clients and business opportunities through research, networking, and outreach.
- Present and sell marketing solutions to prospective clients, tailoring proposals to meet clients' needs.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
- Manage a portfolio of accounts, ensuring client satisfaction and repeat business.
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients, addressing any concerns and ensuring their needs are met.
- Identify new business opportunities and develop strategies to capture them.
- Collaborate with the marketing and production teams to create compelling advertising solutions.
- Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities.
- Prepare and deliver persuasive sales pitches and proposals.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to maximise profitability while meeting client expectations.
- Close sales deals and ensure smooth handover to the account management team.
- Analyse sales data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on progress toward sales goals.
- Collaborate with marketing, sales, and product teams to integrate social media strategies with overall marketing efforts.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of overall sales strategies.
- Coordinate team outputs to ensure that contract deliverables are met.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in sales strategies and processes.
- Experiment with new platforms, tools, and techniques to drive sales and growth.
- Represent the company professionally while engaging clients and at industry events as needed.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, media contacts, and industry influencers.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Min. 3-5 years of experience in sales, business development, or account management within the media advertising industry.
- Strong understanding of various media platforms (digital, print, broadcast, etc.) and advertising solutions.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Highly motivated and goal-oriented.
- Creative thinker with the ability to identify and develop unique advertising solutions.
- Resilient with the ability to handle objections and challenges in the sales process.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple accounts and projects simultaneously.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Proficient in CRM software and sales tools.
- Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
- Conversational language skills (English, Bahasa Melayu), Mandarin (not a must).
