Responsibilities

  • Assist in creating, communicating, and enforcing corporate safety policies and procedures.

  • Provide technical guidance and support to field teams and subcontractors to ensure compliance with safety regulations.

  • Coordinate and participate in subcontractor Pre-Construction Safety Planning Meetings.

  • Review subcontractor Site-Specific Safety Programs and Job Hazard Analyses prior to mobilization.

  • Conduct routine site evaluations, identify safety deficiencies, and recommend corrective actions.

  • Support the investigation of incidents using root cause analysis techniques and assist in developing preventive measures.

  • Monitor and review subcontractor safety training documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements.

  • Attend and review subcontractor Tool Box Talks to ensure safety awareness and proper documentation.

  • Perform regular site audits and inspections to proactively identify hazards and ensure a safe working environment.

  • Collaborate with project teams to implement safety strategies and foster a culture of safety.


Recruitment Requirements

  • Graduated from university with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.

  • A major in the fields of Construction, Safety, or Engineering is preferred.

  • 1–3 years of experience in Construction Health and Safety is required.

  • Working knowledge of federal and state safety and health regulations.

  • Strong understanding of construction safety practices and technologies.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with teams and stakeholders.

  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and adapt to changing environments.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

  • May spend extended hours working inside and outside in all weather conditions, and in awkward body positions which can cause physical discomfort and strain.

  • Required to regularly lift up to 50 lbs and to adjust heavy objects.

  • The position will come in contact with sharp, hot, and cold equipment, and parts.

  • Must be medically qualified to wear a personal respirator.

  • Sensory demands include exposure to the smells associated with industrial chemical operations, exposure to the sounds associated with powered tools and industrial equipment.

  • Must have the ability to safely climb ladders, and work at elevation from ladders, scaffolding, lifts, roofs, or platforms, and the ability to work in confined spaces.
