Responsibilities:
- Lead the design of memory IC projects from initial concept through tape-out, ensuring smooth development and delivery.
- Define and implement memory architectures and circuits with an emphasis on optimizing speed, power efficiency, and silicon area utilization.
- Develop comprehensive test plans to thoroughly evaluate memory designs using simulation tools and methodologies to validate functionality and performance.
- Identify and troubleshoot design issues, employing simulation and analysis techniques to isolate problems and devise effective solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze and enhance memory performance, addressing bottlenecks for optimal operation.
- Work closely with analog and digital engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of memory designs into overall product development.
- Support silicon bring-up and validation activities, resolving design-related issues as they arise.
- Stay updated with industry advancements in memory design, implementing cutting-edge techniques and technologies.
- Implement rigorous testing and validation processes to meet quality and reliability standards.
- Maintain detailed documentation of design processes, methodologies, and findings to support team collaboration and project continuity.
Requirements:
- MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis on CMOS memory, digital, or mixed-signal design.
- 5+ years of experience in circuit design using advanced CMOS processes (PhD research experience may be considered), with successful tape-out experience at leading foundries.
- Hands-on experience in memory circuit design in one or more of the following areas: SRAM, DRAM, Flash, or emerging Non-Volatile Memory (NVM) technologies.
- Strong understanding of layout design, including layout-dependent effects, pitch matching, and design for manufacturing.
- Proficiency with common EDA tools and memory design methodologies, including design, simulation, layout, and verification tools (e.g., Synopsys, Cadence, Mentor Graphics).
- Ability to create innovative architecture and circuit solutions tailored to customer requirements.
- Comfortable working in a startup environment, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on production experience with key memory blocks such as sense amplifiers, charge pumps, read/write assist circuits, PVT trackers, and power gating.
- Familiarity with memory controllers or memory interfaces.
- Experience with emerging non-volatile memory technologies.
