Position Summary

Our client, a global manufacturer of advanced connectivity and power solutions, is seeking an experienced Product Line Manager to drive the operational and financial performance of key product families serving the data center, server, networking, industrial, and emerging technology markets.

This role will have broad ownership across product line growth, profitability, demand and capacity planning, cost optimization, and operational strategy.

The Product Line Manager will work cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, Sales, and Finance to ensure product lines meet customer demand while achieving long-term growth and profitability objectives.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a strong combination of product management, manufacturing operations, supply chain, and financial/business management experience within the interconnect, electronics, or related hardware industry.

Key Responsibilities

Capacity Planning & Demand Management

  • Partner with Operations, Planning, Sales, and Supply Chain teams to develop and maintain product forecasts.
  • Analyze demand trends and manufacturing capacity to ensure alignment between customer requirements and production capabilities.
  • Identify risks related to material availability, production capacity, and demand fluctuations and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Support Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes to improve forecast accuracy, inventory performance, and operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate capacity planning initiatives to support new and existing customer programs.

Cost & Margin Management

  • Drive cost-reduction initiatives through value engineering, sourcing optimization, manufacturing improvements, and product design changes.
  • Analyze product cost structures and identify opportunities to improve gross margins.
  • Partner with Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, and Finance to execute margin improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor product profitability and develop recommendations to improve financial performance.
  • Support pricing and business decisions using product cost, margin, and market analysis.

Product Line & Business Management

  • Manage the operational and financial performance of assigned product families.
  • Partner with Sales and Engineering teams to support product growth and customer requirements.
  • Evaluate market demand, customer needs, capacity requirements, and product economics to support business decisions.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives involving Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Sales, and Finance.
  • Translate operational and financial data into actionable recommendations for business leadership.
  • Support strategic initiatives related to product portfolio growth, manufacturing optimization, and long-term capacity planning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • 7–10 years of experience in Product Management, Product Line Management, Operations, Supply Chain, or Business Management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with high-speed interconnect, connectors, cable solutions, power connectivity, electronic components, or related hardware products strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in demand planning, capacity planning, forecasting, inventory management, or supply chain operations.
  • Strong understanding of product costing, pricing, gross margin analysis, and financial performance metrics.
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects and operational improvement initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into business decisions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 50%.

They should be comfortable working across Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Sales, and Finance and have experience managing products from both an operational and profitability perspective.

Candidates with backgrounds in connectors, interconnect systems, power connectivity, cable assemblies, data center hardware, server hardware, or electronic components will be especially relevant.
