Job Openings Permanent Veterinary Surgeon

About the job Permanent Veterinary Surgeon

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to join a talented and committed team of vets, nurses, and support staff across two branches in South Suffolk on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

This practice understands the importance of achieving the right work-life balance and welcome applicants looking for flexible working hours, whether full-time or part-time. Their flexible rota options ensure you can tailor your work schedule to suit your lifestyle. Whether you're looking for consulting-only roles or a mix of surgery and consults, they're happy to discuss and accommodate your preferences.

You would be joining a long-established veterinary practice, proudly serving the local community for over 100 years.

One of their branches is a beautiful Grade 2 listed building that has been refurbished to create a modern clinical environment, while retaining its historic charm. The other offers a spacious and purpose-built facility with all the latest equipment, including digital X-rays, video endoscopy, multiparameter monitoring, and a class IV therapeutic laser. Both sites are RCVS GP status accredited, cat-friendly, and committed to staff development as Nurse Training practices.

Their combined clinical team comprises 15 Veterinary Surgeons (including part-time), 15 RVNs and 2 SVNs across both branches. They benefit from the expertise of an Advanced Practitioner in Diagnostic Imaging and an Orthopaedic Surgeon, with close collaboration between the branches. They take pride in fostering a supportive, professional, and friendly work environment, where personal and professional development is actively encouraged.

They are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic veterinary surgeon who shares their values and commitment to high-quality patient care. This vacancy is open to candidates at any stage of their career, from recent graduates to experienced vets. The role includes 1 in 3 Saturday mornings but no out-of-hours duties.

For those interested in further development, they actively encourage and support vets in pursuing their own areas of interest, including funding and study leave for certificates.
