Head Veterinary Surgeon | Leicestershire

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Head Veterinary Surgeon to lead our dedicated team in Hinckley. This full-time role offers an exceptional opportunity to shape and guide the clinical standards and growth of the practice. With no out-of-hours (OOHs) responsibilities and a structured rota, this role provides a balanced schedule and a supportive environment.

Salary: Starting at £70,000 (dependent on experience)

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and support a team of 5 veterinarians, 5 nurses, 2 student nurses, and 2 animal care assistants
• Oversee all clinical and surgical activities, ensuring the highest standards of patient care
• Develop treatment protocols and establish clinical standards in collaboration with the team
• Conduct consultations, diagnostic tests, and surgical procedures
• Engage with clients to ensure compassionate, effective communication and build long-term client relationships
• Participate in the development and implementation of practice initiatives and improvements

Qualifications and Skills:

• Veterinary degree with current RCVS registration
• Significant experience in veterinary surgery, ideally with prior leadership experience
• Strong clinical and surgical skills with the ability to manage a diverse caseload
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on team development
• Organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a passion for high-quality patient care
