Our digital and advertising agency, based in Chicago, is looking for a Media Planner/Buyer with experience in TV, traditional, and digital media planning and buying.
This role presents a unique opportunity to take on significant responsibilities and drive client growth through research- and data-driven recommendations. The agency serves various sectors, including home improvement, senior living, tourism, and manufacturing.
Location: Chicago, IL, Magnificent Mile
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing and executing media strategies for traditional consumer media platforms and digital media
- Utilize strong mathematical and analytical skills, proficient in media math, syndicated research tools, and target audience strategies.
- Communicate effectively through verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Create actionable media plans that leverage marketing opportunities.
- Manage the RFP process and negotiate with external vendors and partners to meet campaign objectives.
- Handle day-to-day media planning tasks, including media authorizations, specifications, order entry (Freewheel/Strata system), verification, and documentation.
- Track and analyze campaign performance, providing optimization recommendations based on insights.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in Excel and media buying software.
- Understanding digital media channels (SEM, display, paid social) is advantageous.
- B2B experience is a plus.
- Strong negotiation skills with a focus on client interests.
- Reliable, solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a genuine ability to connect with others.
- Bachelors degree.
- The ability to work in the office (4 days a week and one day WFH (Friday)
- 2 years of agency media buying experience
