The Medical Assistant provides essential clinical and administrative support in our ambulatory care settings, contributing to a patient-centered environment that fosters health and wellness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Duties:
- Using current pharmacological principles, administer medications and perform venipuncture and immunizations for adult and pediatric patients.
- Conduct primary patient care, considering the patient's age and developmental needs.
- Prepare patients for examination by rooming them, taking their vital signs (height, weight, blood pressure, temperature, respirations), and recording their history.
- Perform waived testing and specimen collection as needed.
- Adhere to standard universal precautions, including proper hand hygiene, medication administration, and assisting with procedures.
- Administrative Duties:
- Review and prepare medical charts, ensuring quality measure requirements are met before patient visits.
- Set up examination rooms daily, ensuring cleanliness, adequate supplies, and Joint Commission compliance.
- Screen patients without appointments and communicate relevant medical information to the RN Health Administrator and Provider.
- Respond to inquiries from patients, pharmacies, hospitals, and physicians via telephone, fax, and email.
- Assist with scheduling patient appointments when necessary.
- Complete all administrative tasks, phone messages, and patient case tasks within the electronic medical record system by the end of each business day.

- Provide a positive and welcoming experience for all internal and external customers, exceeding their expectations to ensure the highest quality service and best possible outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Education and Experience:
- Medical Assistant: Completing a Medical Assistant program (diploma or certificate).
- Certified Medical Assistant: Completing a Medical Assistant program (diploma or certificate) with registration/certification through the AMT Certification exam.
- Other Qualifications:
- Ability to work late evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
- Willingness to travel and work at various clinic locations as needed.
