Job Description: Group Claims Assessor
Are you an experienced claims assessor with a passion for excellent customer service and a commitment to supporting vulnerable customers? Join us in making a positive impact on our policyholders and members.
Role Overview: As a Group Claims Assessor, you will make fair and balanced claims decisions in line with industry guidelines and our Life philosophy. You'll handle a range of products, including Life, Death in Service Pensions, Critical Illness, and Income Protection. Timely and quality decision-making using appropriate evidence is essential.
Responsibilities:
- Assess Group Protection claims, focusing on Income Protection and Critical Illness.
- Use sound decision-making skills, managing risks and escalating when necessary.
- Communicate with employers, members, clients, doctors, service providers, intermediaries, reinsurers, and FOS to:
- Obtain additional claim information
- Explain claim requirements and decisions
- Resolve appeals and complaints
- Build and maintain relationships with intermediaries and service providers.
- Suggest and implement improvements to the claims process.
- Collaborate with other departments (Individual Claim Assessors, Underwriting, Actuarial, Client Services, Sales) to develop a comprehensive understanding of the business and contribute to best practices.
- Provide training, coaching, and support to less experienced team members and Client Services.
