Our client, a respected leader in the metals and minerals industry with over 100 years of expertise, provides high-quality technical chemical analysis and control services. They are currently seeking a skilled Finance Director for their DR Congo subsidiary.
In this role, you will oversee financial accounting and reporting, prepare cash flow forecasts aligned with established timelines, and manage a Finance team of 5 to 6 people. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a longstanding, innovative organization in a key leadership capacity.
Missions & Responsibilities :
- Deliver accurate, timely monthly financial statements, statutory accounts, and management reporting based on local GAAP and IFRS standards, aligning with group policies and schedules.
Manage a Finance team of 5 to 6 people
- Lead the analysis of year-to-date trends, KPI reporting, and commentary to guide key decision-making. Perform detailed balance sheet and income statement reconciliations to support insightful analysis.
- Prepare precise cash flow forecasts, helping drive effective financial planning and control.
- Ensure payroll accuracy and contribute to strategic management plans, capital expenditure planning, and various financial reportsoften under tight deadlines.
- Strengthen internal controls to detect and prevent fraud, maintain the integrity of financial information, and safeguard company assets. Ensure compliance with all external and internal standards (statutes, local GAAP, IFRS, and corporate policies).
- Assist in enhancing financial systems, tools, and processes to boost accuracy, control, and efficiency. Identify automation opportunities to elevate team productivity.
Coordinate project financial analysis and support commercial tenders.
Oversee HR responsibilities and manage the company's
insurance policies.
Required skills :
Qualified CPA (or equivalent) accountant
Experience and knowledge of OHADA GAAP
Ability to work under pressure, ensuring compliance with deadlines
Strong technical and analytical accounting skills
Fluency in both French and English written and verbal is essential
- Ability to comprehend and communicate financial data in a relevant and concise way both orally and in the development of written documents, reports and financial information
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan, manage and prioritise workload to ensure all key deadlines are met
Experience in managing relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
Strong excel skills
Ideally prior experience working in DR Congo or other African countries
