Company / Background :

For our client, an international player in the renewable energy and energy infrastructure sector, we are looking for a Construction Civil Manager based on-site in Kolwezi, Democratic Republic of the Congo.

You will be responsible for overseeing civil works during the EPC construction phase of large-scale projects, particularly in the areas of Solar PV, BESS, and associated infrastructure. You will coordinate teams, subcontractors, and the various disciplines to ensure safe execution in compliance with technical standards, while meeting project timelines and objectives.

Missions & Responsibilities :

As a Construction Civil Manager, you will report to the Project Manager and your responsibilities will include :

  • Lead all civil construction activities related to Solar PV, BESS, substations, and associated infrastructure projects.

  • Plan and supervise earthworks, foundations, concrete works, drainage, access roads, and trenches.

  • Coordinate civil works with mechanical and electrical teams, EPC contractors, and subcontractors.

  • Ensure compliance with drawings, technical specifications, QA/QC requirements, and HSE standards, including the monitoring of non-conformities and punch lists.

  • Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders involved in the construction site.

  • Monitor the schedule, resources, progress, risks, and costs of civil works.

  • Support testing, commissioning, and handover activities to the Operations & Maintenance teams.

Candidate Profile :

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent technical qualification.

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in construction, ideally in energy projects, infrastructure, or renewable energy.

  • Proven experience in Solar PV, BESS, substations, or comparable infrastructure projects.

  • Experience managing EPC packages, contractors, and subcontractors on large-scale projects.

  • Strong knowledge of earthworks, foundations, concrete works, drainage, roads, trenches, and coordination of electrical interfaces.

  • Proficiency in site planning, QA/QC, and HSE requirements; knowledge of MS Project or Primavera, AutoCAD, and Excel.

  • Advanced English (B2/C1) and ability to work in an international and multicultural environment.
