PIPE FITTER WELDER

A new ship repair yard is being launched in Kingston, Jamaica, which will provide dry docking services for commercial vessels up to 20,000 tons, and a range of maintenance and repair services. The company is looking for candidates for the position of the Pipe Fitter.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

- perform pipe works like welding, cutting, grinding, assembling, installing and repairing pipe components and systems according to specifications

- read technical drawings, perform measurement, assesses work space, availability of tools and materials and determines optimal way of performing all activities

- perform other duties assigned by the immediate superior

- comply with the health & safety rules and maintain order & cleanliness at the workplace

- performing his professionality with his best experience

REQUIREMENTS:

The ideal candidate should possess some or all of the following qualifications:

- min 3 years of experience in a similar position

- advanced practical pipe work expertise

- good skill in the use of hand tools, machine tools and workshop equipment

- consistency, neatness and precision

- MIG / MAG / TIG certificate and working knowledge

- communicative knowledge of English

- willing to overtime, night work and work on Sundays and public holidays

- commitment and understanding of all matters relating to health & safety

- willingness to relocate
