Role: Planning Manager
Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Ship Repair Planning Manager to join our dynamic team who will play a crucial role in expanding our client base and ensuring the successful execution of ship repair projects. - Prepare estimates for work included in the specifications provided by the ship owner.
- Divide the work specified into tasks to be performed by in-house employees and tasks to be performed by subcontractors.
- Send inquiries to contractors and obtain quotations for the specified work.
- Specify materials needed for the specified work with long delivery times and obtain offers for their delivery.
- Develop a preliminary ship repair schedule.
- Prepare a resource balance for the repairs.
- Develop a schedule for the ship repairs after the client accepts the offer and include the repairs in the shipyard's general production plan.
- Prepare a detailed description of the work necessary for the repairs, divided into tasks to be performed by in-house employees and tasks to be performed by subcontractors.
- Prepare scopes of work for contractor inquiries and forward them to the cooperation department.
- Prepare material requirements for materials needed for repair works and forward them to the purchasing department.
- Prepare the ship repair budget in collaboration with the Ship Repair Project Manager based on estimates for individual tasks.
- Prepare standard labor estimates for typical repair works.
- Prepare price lists for typical works performed by subcontractors.
- Prepare quotations for additional works requested by the shipowner during ship repairs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in ship repairs, with at least 2 years in a planning or project management role.
- In-depth knowledge of ship repair processes and procedures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software.
- Experience in preparing cost estimates and budgets for ship repair projects.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external contractors.
