DOCK MASTER / ASSISTANT DOCK MASTER (FLOATING DOCK)

A new ship repair yard is being launched in Kingston, Jamaica, which will provide dry docking services for commercial vessels up to 20,000 tons, and a range of maintenance and repair services. The company is looking for candidates for the position of the Dock Master and Assistant Dock Masters

JOB DESCRIPTION:

- stability and strength calculation of docking operations / keel blocks arrangement

- responsible for all aspects of vessels safety form the berthing until the departure

- conduct the block inspection and cross check block settings

- supervise the entry and exit of vessels in cooperation with port pilots

- operation and maintenance of the dock

- ensure compliance with all rules and requirements, including health & safety

- develop standard operating procedures and work instructions

- determine qualification requirements for dock operators and provide the training

- performing his professionality with his best experience

REQUIREMENTS:

The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:

- minimum of 5 years of experience in the dock master or similar position

- STCW certificates and other relevant certificates

- English language proficiency

- willing to overtime, night work and work on Sundays and public holidays

- strong leadership, problem-solving skills and hands-on approach

- commitment and understanding of all matters relating to health & safety

- ability to share technical knowledge and perform on the job trainings

- working knowledge of Microsoft Office products

- willingness to relocate
