About the Client
Our client is a biomass energy company focused on converting maize straw and manure into high-quality biofuel briquettes. Their first biomass densification plant near Depalpur will process 60 tons/day of agricultural residues using a mix of shredding, hammering, drying, and briquetting technologies.
To lead operations, they are hiring a Plant Manager who can set up and manage production while optimizing machine-based and labor-based processes.
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Plant Manager to oversee the setup, operation, and optimization of a 3-4 ton/hr Chinese briquetting plant. The ideal candidate should have experience in multi-stage material processing, industrial-scale operations, and densification technologies (pelletizing or briquetting).
This is a leadership role requiring expertise in process flow management, machinery troubleshooting, and workforce supervision.
Key Responsibilities
1. Plant Setup & Production Management
- Oversee installation, commissioning, and optimization of the briquetting plant.
- Develop and implement efficient workflows for shredding, hammering, drying, and briquetting.
- Ensure raw material handling (maize straw, manure) aligns with production capacity (60 tons/day).
2. Machine Operation & Maintenance
- Supervise Chinese briquetting machines, shredders, dryers, conveyors, and hammer mills.
- Work with maintenance teams to ensure minimum downtime and quick troubleshooting.
3. Workforce & Process Optimization
- Manage and train machine operators & labor teams to balance manual and automated processes.
- Improve material flow efficiency and minimize production bottlenecks.
- Implement safety and quality control protocols.
4. Inventory & Supply Coordination
- Work with the supply chain team to ensure steady raw material availability.
- Monitor moisture levels, drying times, and machine settings to maintain quality.
5. Reporting & Compliance
- Maintain production reports, downtime logs, and performance records.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and industrial regulations.
Qualifications & Experience
Education:
- Minimum: DAE (Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial Engineering).
- Preferred: Bachelors in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Process Engineering.
Experience:
- 7+ years in an industrial production setting.
- 3+ years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Experience in pelletizing, feed mills, biomass processing, or related industries.
- Hands-on knowledge of Chinese machinery operation & troubleshooting.
- Strong background in process optimization, workforce management, and safety compliance.
Skills:
- Production flow management Understanding how different materials (biomass, agri-residues) require different processing steps.
- Technical troubleshooting Ability to diagnose and fix machine issues (shredders, dryers, conveyors, briquetting presses).
- Leadership & team management Supervising machine operators and labor efficiently.
- Process efficiency improvement Reducing wastage and increasing machine uptime.
