You will support monthly close processes, financial reporting, reconciliations, financial analysis, and client communication, while working with cloud-based accounting systems and supporting the development of junior team members.

This role is well suited to someone who is technically strong, organised, proactive, and confident working with international teams.

What you'll be doing

In this role, you will help deliver outsourced accounting and advisory services to a portfolio of U.S.-based clients. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting monthly close processes, including reconciliations, supporting schedules, financial analysis, and reporting
  • Preparing and reviewing accounting workpapers for accuracy and completeness
  • Working with cloud-based accounting platforms such as QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct, Bill.com, Expensify, Tallie, Nexonia, and similar tools
  • Coordinating engagement deliverables with supervisors, managers, partners, and clients
  • Communicating progress, issues, resolutions, and financial information clearly and professionally
  • Supporting clients with financial reporting and accounting-related queries
  • Maintaining strong client relationships through reliable delivery and clear communication
  • Coaching, guiding, and reviewing the work of junior team members where required
  • Ensuring work is completed in line with professional standards, firm expectations, and client deadlines

What we're looking for

You should have:

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field
  • A completed professional accounting qualification, ideally CA(SA), Professional Accountant (SA), CIMA-qualified, or ACCA-qualified
  • At least 3 years' accounting experience, ideally with increasing responsibility across more complex work
  • Prior experience working with U.S. clients, ideally within a CPA firm, accounting practice, outsourced accounting team, or multi-client finance environment
  • Strong experience with monthly close, reconciliations, management reporting, and financial analysis
  • Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online and/or Sage Intacct
  • Exposure to tools such as Bill.com, Expensify, Tallie, Nexonia, or similar cloud-based finance tools
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage deadlines across multiple clients or engagements
  • The ability to review work, support juniors, and communicate constructively
  • A high level of confidentiality, professionalism, and accountability
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

What would make you stand out

Experience in any of the following would be advantageous:

  • Experience in nonprofit accounting or nonprofit organisations
  • Direct experience in outsourced accounting and advisory services
  • Experience implementing or training others on cloud accounting systems
  • Experience supervising, mentoring, or reviewing junior accountants

Who this role suits

This role would suit someone who enjoys working across multiple clients and takes pride in delivering accurate, high-quality work.

You may be a strong fit if you:

  • Enjoy monthly close, reconciliations, reporting, and problem-solving
  • Are comfortable managing competing deadlines
  • Communicate clearly and proactively
  • Enjoy using cloud-based accounting tools
  • Can build strong working relationships with clients and internal teams
  • Take ownership of your work and raise issues early
  • Enjoy supporting others and improving the quality of team output
