GCO Partners is hiring a Finance Business Analyst / Systems Implementation BA for a global client opportunity within an international finance function.

This role is suited to someone who understands finance processes, can work with stakeholders across regions, and can help translate messy, manual ways of working into clearer system and process requirements. You should be practical, structured, and comfortable operating in a business that is preparing for finance transformation.

About the opportunity

You will support a global business with finance operations across multiple entities, currencies, and regions. The finance function is currently working through manual processes and is preparing for future system improvement, including Sage Intacct.

This is a strong opportunity for a finance-focused BA who can bridge the gap between finance users, systems, processes, reporting needs, and implementation partners.

You will be embedded into the client's team and supported by GCO Partners throughout your placement.

What you'll be doing

• Work with finance stakeholders to understand current processes, pain points, and reporting needs
• Document existing finance workflows across AP, AR, month-end, reporting, controls, and related areas
• Support the design of improved finance processes and future-state workflows
• Gather, clarify, and document business and system requirements
• Help identify gaps, risks, dependencies, and process inefficiencies
• Support finance system implementation or improvement activities
• Assist with data preparation, testing, user acceptance testing, and issue tracking
• Work with global stakeholders across finance, operations, and external implementation partners
• Support change management, user documentation, and process adoption
• Help ensure finance processes are practical, controlled, and scalable

What we're looking for

• Experience as a Business Analyst, Finance Systems Analyst, Systems Implementation BA, or similar
• Strong understanding of finance processes, including AP, AR, month-end close, reconciliations, reporting, and controls
• Experience documenting business requirements, workflows, process maps, and user stories or functional specifications
• Experience supporting finance system implementations, upgrades, or process improvement projects
• Ability to work with manual or unclear processes and bring structure to them
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Good Excel and data-handling skills
• Comfortable working remotely with global teams
• Strong attention to detail, follow-through, and practical problem-solving ability
• A finance, accounting, systems, business analysis, or project-related qualification would be advantageous

Strong advantages

• Sage Intacct implementation or support experience
• Experience with finance transformation projects
• Experience in SaaS, technology, learning, digital, or services businesses
• Experience in a global, multi-entity, or multi-currency environment
• Exposure to reporting, dashboards, integrations, or data migration
• Experience supporting UAT, test scripts, training materials, or change adoption
• Understanding of financial controls and month-end reporting requirements
• Experience working with external implementation partners or consultants

Working model

This is a South Africa-based opportunity.

Johannesburg is preferred for initial onboarding and collaboration, with flexibility considered for exceptional candidates based elsewhere in South Africa.

The client operates remotely across global teams, but the South African finance team may collaborate more closely during the initial setup period.

This may initially be a 12-month opportunity, with possible longer-term potential depending on business needs and performance.
