Role Overview
We are partnering with a well-established professional services accounting firm to appoint an Accountant within their Business Services team. The role focuses on delivering high-quality accounting, compliance, and advisory support to a portfolio of owner-managed businesses and SMEs.
This opportunity suits an accountant with firm (practice) experience, strong client exposure, and hands-on capability across Xero and QuickBooks environments.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare monthly management accounts and year-end financial statements for multiple clients.

Deliver day-to-day business services accounting, including journals, reconciliations, and reporting.

Manage bookkeeping and cloud accounting processes using Xero and QuickBooks.

Prepare and review VAT returns and support statutory compliance.

Act as a key client contact, responding to accounting and reporting queries.

Support senior team members with advisory work, including cash flow and performance analysis.

Ensure work is completed accurately, on time, and in line with professional standards.
Required Experience

Proven experience within a professional services / accounting firm (business services or accounts team).

Strong practical experience using Xero and QuickBooks (both required).

Experience managing multiple clients and deadlines.

Solid understanding of UK accounting standards, VAT, and compliance processes.
Qualifications

Part-qualified or qualified accountant (ACCA / ACA / CIMA or equivalent).

Relevant accounting or finance degree preferred.
