Corporate Tax Associate / Tax Senior
UK Accountancy Practice | Hybrid / Remote
At GCO Partners, we connect exceptional professionals from Africa and beyond with meaningful global opportunities, without requiring relocation. We are a people-first, high-performance team helping talented professionals build international careers while staying rooted in home.
We are currently looking for a Corporate Tax professional to join our team supporting a well-established UK accountancy and tax advisory firm. This opportunity offers hands-on corporate tax work, exposure to technically interesting advisory projects, and the chance to keep building your UK tax expertise in a supportive, growth-focused environment.
If you enjoy combining strong compliance foundations with broader advisory exposure, this could be a strong next step.
What you'll be doing
In this role, you'll work as part of an established tax team supporting a varied portfolio of UK corporate clients. Your work will include both compliance and project-based advisory exposure.
You will:
- Prepare and review UK corporate tax returns accurately and on time
- Identify technical risks, compliance issues, and tax planning opportunities
- Support tax advisory and planning work across a range of client matters
- Assist on broader corporate and owner-managed business tax projects
- Contribute to work such as reorganisations, disposals, and due diligence assignments
- Help develop advisory opportunities within an existing client base
- Build strong working relationships with colleagues and clients
- Support audit and accounts teams on tax-related matters
- Contribute to technical content such as factsheets, articles, presentations, and training materials
- Keep up to date with UK tax legislation and relevant accountancy developments
What we're looking for
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
- Part-qualified or newly qualified ATT or CTA
- At least 2 years' experience in an accountancy practice
- Hands-on UK corporate tax compliance experience
- Practical experience preparing and ideally reviewing corporate tax returns
- Exposure to tax advisory or planning work, even if still developing in this area
- A solid understanding of UK corporate tax legislation and compliance requirements
- The ability to spot technical risks and planning opportunities
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills
- Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain technical matters in a practical way
- A collaborative, proactive approach and confidence working with different stakeholders
Experience supporting audit or accounts teams on tax matters would be advantageous.
