Audit Senior (Short-Term Contract)

Role Summary

We are supporting a UK-based mid-tier audit and advisory firm seeking an Audit Senior for a short-term, project-based engagement. This role is delivery-focused, supporting audits of listed entities during a peak reporting period. Candidates must be able to hit the ground running with minimal ramp-up.

Minimum Qualification Requirements (Non-Negotiable)

• CA(SA) qualification OR

• ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent international qualification)

• Candidates in final year of articles with strong listed exposure may be considered

Required Professional Experience

• 3–6+ years external audit experience

• Current or recent experience at Big 4 or large mid-tier audit firms

• Proven audit experience on listed entities (JSE, LSE, AIM, or equivalent)

• Hands-on exposure to IFRS-based audits

• Experience working to UK or comparable international audit standards

Role Responsibilities

• Execute audit fieldwork for listed company audits

• Prepare and review audit working papers and statutory files

• Perform risk assessments, substantive testing, and controls testing

• Apply IFRS and technical accounting judgement where required

• Resolve audit queries directly with client finance teams

• Support audit managers with file readiness and deadlines
